Stephan Mansour
Additive Construction (AC) Specialist and Qualified AC Ambassador CANADA/US/ROW
With nearly 2 decades in the construction sector, my specialty is in construction digitization and supporting the adoption of innovative technologies in the AEC industry.
Focusing on Additive Construction (AC) consultancy and development of standards for construction 3D printing, I advise global public and private organizations in the successful implementation of AC as a common tool to transform and innovate business operations in construction.
I lead several AC standard development initiatives as Chair of ASTM’s F42.07.07 – Construction and Co-Convenor of ISO’s TC 261/JG 80. A major milestone was the publication of ISO/ASTM 52939 in December of 2023. The standard entitled “Additive manufacturing for construction — Qualification principles — Structural and infrastructure elements” bridges the gap between Traditional and Additive construction; how to use existing standards to qualify AC elements.
Undertakings of late, have included leading the yearlong “Digitalization of Construction Industry Roadmap” effort undertaken by ASTM for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), supporting the resulting NIST Additive Construction by Extrusion (ACE) Consortium based on a limited scope of the resulting roadmap, and participation in the National Research Council Canada (NRC) efforts regarding their “Platform to Decarbonize the Construction Sector at Scale” initiative.
