Setting the Standard for Safe and Compliant Food Production Equipment
Additive manufacturing in the food industry is in the early stages of adoption, with growing interest in its potential applications for creating intricate designs, personalized nutrition solutions, and novel textures. While not yet widespread, AM is being explored by innovative companies aiming to revolutionize food production and presentation. As adoption begins to grow, ensuring safety and quality is paramount. Strict adherence to food safety regulations, such as the ISO 22000 and FDA guidelines, and thorough testing are essential. While specific AM standards for food are evolving, ISO/ASTM 52920 provides process category independent requirements for establishing quality-assured AM processes and production sites applicable across various industries, including emerging applications like food. We assist food manufacturers in certifying their AM processes, enabling them to deliver safe, high-quality culinary innovations to the market and supporting the industry’s emerging adoption of additive manufacturing.
