Data driven qualification and certification method
Cost effective - Risk based validation approach implemented.
Minimizing the risk of defects by reducing the process variables for all suppliers
Equalizing the process output between suppliers and the improvement of reproducibility. Overall it demonstrates a production process that is focused on quality, consistency and reliability.
Scalibility to all AM process categories
Scalability for components and suppliers is ensured because suppliers produce in a standardized way. The process is in place and adding more suppliers requires a minimum amount of work.
Supply chain control
Due to the combination of the ASML AM GSA and the services provided by QAM. The whole process is streamlined and standardized, ensuring efficiency and consistent high quality throughout suppliers.
Outsourcing complexity
The complexity in qualification and certification for AM requires senior expertise and this complexity is in save hands within the QAM team.
The development of the ASML AM GSA by QAM
QAM developed the GSA for ASML and continuously supports ASML with the updating the GSA on changes and new developments.
Decreased risk for critical AM parts
Improved and increased qualification and validation measures lead to trustworthy quality assurance through your supplier network.

Achieving the ISO 52920 certification underscores our commitment to quality and precision. With the help of Qualified AM we integrated an ISO 52920 compatible workflow and advanced powder management. With this we can ensure consistent excellence in the production of high-tech printed metal parts.

World`s first qualified supply chain for the semiconductor industry – ASML

The AM suppliers in this project have been audited with a high-over focus on the production process to satisfy the ISO/ASTM 52920 and other standards including the ASML GSA. The timeline for proof of conformity through QualifiedAM audits, reports, and certificates was typically completed within 4 to 10 months per supplier. For ASML high-end/class 3 critical components, the audited “risk qualification & validation” service competence significantly impacts the implementation of semiconductor critical components. The primary advantageous outcomes of this qualification project are the reduction of process variables affecting quality, the improvement of reproducibility in process outputs, and the demonstration of a production process that is focused on quality and reliability.

Within a span of a few months, we have successfully developed and implemented the supplier audit scheme and the qualification program for ASML additive manufactured components within the semiconductor supply chain. The document titled ‘ASML AM GSA’ integrates ISO/ASTM standards, ensuring the reproducibility of additive manufacturing (AM) components.
The Qualified AM Audit Team is performing detailed production process audits at the AM suppliers of ASML.

ASML recognizes the significant potential that AM has, but also sees the need for advanced quality assurance. One of the main challenges is the quality variations between supply chain partners. These variations are caused by the use of different AM systems, materials, parameter sets and human interactions that need to be standardized.
Therefor the scope of qualification provided by Qualified AM GmbH covers the AM process category PBF/LB-M from multiple machine manufacturers in combination with different materials like titanium (Ti6Al4V) and stainless steel 316L. The corresponding process parameters as well as team competencies are also thoroughly covered in the audit process.

areas and achievements
AM process specific failure mode assessment
The QAM Team challanges and helps to improve with thei expertice the defined failure modes for risk assessments.
Manufacturability assessment of highly critical components
The audited "risk qualification & validation" service competence significantly impacts the implementation of critical components in the semiconductor industry.
Entire AM supplier network is audited with a high-over focus on the AM production process.
To satisfy the ISO/ASTM 52920, ASML AM GSA and readiness level for other ISO/ASTM standards. With the main goal to reduce process variables that impact the reproducibility of the process output.
