Today, during the ISO/TC 261 meeting week in Singapore, international experts gathered for the 13th meeting of ISO/TC 261/JG 80 to advance the next generation of standards for industrial-scale Additive Construction.261/JG 80 | Meeting
A major highlight was the presentation of a new work item proposal by Hiroshi Sasano (Japan), demonstrating the continued momentum behind globally harmonized qualification and quality frameworks for Additive Construction.
For Qualified AM GmbH, it was particularly rewarding to see how current discussions are building upon ISO/ASTM 52939 – Additive Manufacturing for Construction – Qualification Principles – Structural and Infrastructure Elements.
The project was jointly led by Stephan Mansour and Gregor Reischle, bringing together a global team of experts to establish one of the first internationally developed qualification frameworks for Additive Construction. The project became a cornerstone for today’s international standardization activities and continues to influence the direction of JG 80.
Even more exciting, JG 80 is now preparing the next evolution and revision of ISO/ASTM 52939, ensuring that the standard keeps pace with advances in materials, automation, quality assurance, sustainability, and digital construction.
What makes JG 80 unique is the collaboration between experts who connect international Additive Construction standards with local building code requirements and regulatory frameworks across different regions of the world.

We are already looking forward to continuing these discussions and advancing the next revision of ISO/ASTM52939 with the international community at the next ISO/TC 261 JG 80 meeting in El Paso in March 2027.
The future of Additive Construction is not only being printed. It is being standardized.
